CPI proud to announce new funding for mobile home replacement program

Community Progress, Inc. was recently awarded a New York State grant designated for Manufactured Home Replacement Initiative . The grant, worth over $1 million, will help us replace dilapidated and uninhabitable mobile homes throughout Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties. We are grateful for the opportunity this grant provides in helping our neighbors enjoy safe and secure housing, while keeping homes on the tax rolls.

CPI's MHRI program helps residents replace their dysfunctional mobile homes--whether due to structural damage, extreme environmental concerns, lack of functioning basic utilities, or issues with mobility--and provide them with new mobile homes based on their individual needs. To qualify for the program, applicants must own both the mobile home and the land it is located on. Property taxes must be paid up-to-paid. Additionally, this program does not cover rehabilitation or repairs; it only supports complete replacement.

While we encourage any of our neighbors who qualify to submit an application, please be advised that a waiting list for the MHRI program already exists. CPI prioritizes recipients based on need, but preference will also be given to applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis if applicable. If you are interested in our MHRI program, please download our application here, or call Community Progress, Inc. at 607-962-3506.
